Faith is Substance II

If the Son sets you free you will be free indeed, was Jesus promise to those who would follow Him. God is not governed by any compulsive inclinations or proclivities. In His freedom He is bound by nothing save His eternal desires which are manifested in the sons of God in accordance with His promises. Within the boundaries of His love and that He cannot lie He does whatever He wills, and needs give no account about it. In like manner is true faith free in the Spirit of God and is of God. Because faith is not of reason it moves unimpeded and unrestricted in the spiritual realm. It is laid hold of by nothing but gives itself to everything. Faith is the true playmate and friend of the Father and recognizes His eternal laughter which reverberates through the ages. True faith is mixed with love and thus cannot go against the will of God, but is one with the Father’s faith and will. Faith cannot see it any other way – whatever other scenario offered faith goes against the nature of faith.

Jesus said about everyone born again from above: “The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit.” Against such there is no law. And where there is no law there is no condemnation or guilt, only life in its manifold forms expressing itself in freedom, and as the Father needs give no account about it. The storm doesn’t explain itself. The sun in all its radiance is beyond questions, and if there were any it couldn’t answer them. When the volcano explodes it doesn’t excuse its actions.

It is by faith we scale the mountain and speak face to face with God. It is by the same faith we say: “He that hath seen me hath seen the Father.” The push and pulls from the outer world doesn’t unsettle faith in its convictions, because when faith has dislodged every other notion of earthly origin in our inner man all we can see are harmonious oscillations in the freedom of oneness. Jacob Boehme wrote: “Faith is begotten out of the Spirit of life……and in freedom it works the wonders of God in love.” And, “True faith is a power of God, one Spirit with God. It works in and with God. It is free and bound to no article, save only to true love, in which it gathers the power and strength of its life; human delusion and conjecture are of no consequence.”

This is beautifully put. I always tend to think faith is somehow something I generate. but you have beautifully expressed it as God’s agent…something so powerful and wonderful and beautiful and wild! I absolutely love it!
