A Song of Praise

By Mary Blair

Thank you Father for everything you bring into our lives both the negatives as well as the positives.  Your love for us has no boundaries.  You cause us to see the beauty all around us and rejoice along with us.  You laugh in delight with us when we discover new things  and you cry with us when we are sad and bewildered.  You rise up in us when our human strength fails us and you are faithful to deliver us from the pernicious snare of the tempter.  You grow us up and cause us to walk in your ways.  You alone know the future and the plans you have for us.  You have limited our sight so that we must trust you when the plans we have made don’t come to fruition.   We have learned that when you do a work it is complete and benefits many.  You are not far off in some heaven somewhere directing the universe like some general contractor.  You ARE your universe!  You are in everything that exists and in those things that do not exist in this temporal realm.  You are the Word made flesh dwelling amongst, in, and through us.  You have chosen us to be your body, your dwelling place among men, through which you love and redeem your creation, your world.  How can this be?  We cry out with the Psalmist in 139:6:  “such knowledge is too wonderful for me;  it is high, I cannot attain unto it!”  Praise God!!!  So you let us see the Shekinah glory bit by bit in small doses of awareness ….. little “aha!” moments that tickle us with delight and joy.  We are caught up and fearlessly ride in the wake of your thundering laughter which eternally echoes throughout the heavens and the earth.  Hallelujah!
